Spam Filters
Read more about spam filters - precisely what they are, how they work and the ways to set up one.
A spam filter is a piece of software that runs on a POP3/IMAP server and ‘scans’ all incoming messages so as to obstruct any undesired ones from entering a specific mailbox. A few instances of such email messages would be: offers for pills or cash, fraudulent bank notices or email attachments that contain malware sent with the idea to infect your personal computer. Spam filters typically examine the content of an email and when they come across given keywords or other suspicious content, they either erase the email or re-send it to the Spam/Junk folder instead of the Inbox folder. Some hosting companies mix their own email filters with up-to-the-minute databases from spam-detecting organizations, so as to guarantee better security for their customers. Such databases include patterns, email server IPs and other info about spam messages recently detected by these organizations.

Spam Filters in Web Hosting
In case you decide to host your domain names with us and you select any of our
web hosting, you’ll be able to activate spam filtering for any email account that you set up. With a few mouse clicks in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel, you can set up 5 different safety levels. In case you continue to get unsolicited bulk email messages or the email filters start preventing legitimate email messages from entering your inbox, you can change the level just as easily. The quality of our spam filtering service is ensured by one of the most popular email filters – SpamAssassin. If you don’t want to risk omitting a legitimate message that may be considered as spam owing to its content, you can also configure custom filters based on the sender, the body or the subject of the email message and re-send the emails to a separate mailbox where you can view them at a later time.

Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you decide to make use of the mail service that is offered with our
semi-dedicated servers, you can keep all unsolicited emails away from your inbox by activating the 5-level spam protection that we provide with each and every semi-dedicated server plan. This can be achieved through the full-featured Email Manager section of the Control Panel and we use the advanced SpamAssassin spam filter to ensure that we offer the best possible security for our clients. You can have a different anti-spam level for each email account and you can select whether the filtered emails should be erased or redirected to a different mailbox where you can check them at a later point in time to make sure that you will not miss legitimate messages. Switching to another protection level or deactivating the anti-spam protection is also easy and requires a couple of clicks of the mouse.
