A catch-all feature that is enabled for a given email mailbox will permit you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not actually exist. To state it differently, if you remove an email address and someone still sends a message to it, or to any misspelled address under the very same domain, you will receive the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you won’t miss an email for any reason, which could be crucial if you run some company, for example. Since you may begin receiving unsolicited email messages, you can combine the catch-all option with anti-spam filters in order to get only authentic emails in your inbox. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
If you have a web hosting with our company and you want to activate the catch-all option for a given email mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it’ll take literally just a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one email address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notification and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be set up with several clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed via our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes with any domain name hosted there. To activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox, you’ll need to click on the icon with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Disabling this functionality can be accomplished in the exact same way and will not require more than a click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a specific domain name, you’ll get a warning notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never replace or deactivate anything automatically.
